Names

Adurant, the Doublestream, is the name of the river that parted about the isle of Tol Galen; the name refers to that parting.

Geography

The southernmost of the rivers of Ossiriand, the Adurant ran from the southern Ered Luin into the river Gelion, marking the southern boundary of that land. Halfway along its course the stream divided and then joined again, forming the island of Tol Galen.

History

Upon Tol Galen the restored Beren and Lúthien dwelt after the Quest of the Silmaril, and there their son Dior was born.
