the father of Amroth; the king of the Silvan Elves of Lórien
Name and Office
Amdír was the king of the Silvan Elves of the Golden Wood (Lothlórien) in the earlier age, and the father of Amroth, his successor. Of him the histories say that he fell in the war of the Last Alliance, fighting against Sauron at the end of the Second Age; the lore of Lórien preserves his name as the founder of that realm’s woodland lordship.
