The Crown
The Iron Crown was the terrible crown of black steel that Morgoth wore in the North, in which were set the three Silmarils that he had stolen from Valinor - so that the hands that reached to them were blistered and burnt by their holy light.
Its End
Through all the wars of the North the crown and its jewels were the vain boast of the Dark Enemy; at the War of Wrath, Maedhros wrested two of the Silmarils from it and the crown itself was broken in the casting out of Morgoth through the Door of Night.
