The Years of the Trees are the great age of Arda before the Sun and Moon, measured by the waxing and waning of the Two Trees of Valinor — the age of the Valar’s realm, the awakening of the Elves, and the years of the making and theft of the Silmarils (the chronology of the First Age’s prologue).
