Lalwen
Írimë; daughter of Finwë and Indis; sister of Fingolfin
Name and Role
Lalwen — recorded in the later genealogies also under the name Írimë — was a daughter of Finwë and Indis: the third child of that marriage, sister of Fingolfin and Finarfin and of Findis. She is not named in the published Quenta Silmarillion at all; the little that is told of her comes from the later writings (the Shibboleth of Fëanor).
What is Recorded
There she is numbered among the Noldor who went into exile into Middle-earth in the First Age, following the host of her brother Fingolfin. Of her deeds, fates and end nothing further is recorded: she belongs to the shadowy company of the earlier Finwians about whom the great tales are silent.
