The Mountain
Mount Taras was the great and barren mountain of Nevrast that overhung the western sea. Beneath its shadow Turgon long dwelt at Vinyamar, and there Ulmo gave his counsels and the armour and sword that were kept for Tuor; the mountain remained as a sign of the elder hope of the hidden king.
