Parmaitë the Star-friend; the fourth King of Númenor
Name and Reign
Tar-Elendil (Parmaitë, “of many books”) was the fourth King of Númenor, son of Tar-Amandil; he succeeded his father and reigned for the longest single rule of his line, some five hundred and ninety years, from S.A. 590 to 740.
The Star-friend
He was a friend of the Elves and a star-gazer, who looked ever westward with the light of the West in his eyes; in his day the first ships of the Númenóreans crept toward the shores of the old world, and his quiet reign was remembered as the last patient days before the Shadow.
