The Two
The Blue Wizards (Alatar and Pallando) were the two of the Istari who, together with the three known — Gandalf, Saruman, and Radagast — came to Middle-earth in the Third Age; they alone went into the far East and South, and of their deeds the Wise of the West have little record.
Their Work
The later writings say their mission may have been to stir rebellion against Sauron among the eastern peoples; but of their deeds the West has little record, and their fate is unknown — some say they fell into error, seeking mastery through secret arts, while others hold that they strained against the influence of the East beyond all knowing.
