The Jewel
The Evenstar is the fair white gem that Arwen Undómiel, the Evenstar of her house, wore at her breast; at the parting in Lothlórien she gave it to Aragorn as the token of her choice and the light of her hope.
Significance
In the films the jewel served as the emblem of the star-kindled love of Arwen for the Heir of Isildur; in the books her star was the brightness of her fading, and the gem (as the Evenstar) is remembered with the tale of the Line of Elrond.
