The Unmasking
The Sack of Nargothrond was the end of the hidden realm of the Narog: when the counsel of Túrin drew the host of the fortress into open war and the great bridge was flung across the river, the dragon Glaurung came down from the north and the Orcs lay upon the plain.
The Ruin
The fortress was stormed and plundered; Orodreth was slain, Finduilas was borne away in captivity, and Glaurung lay long upon the piled treasure of the hidden hold; Túrin, returning, found only fire and desolation, and the wage of the curse was drawn at last.
