The Emblem
The Sceptre of Númenor was the ancient silver rod of the Kings — the truer emblem of the royal power than the crown — handed from Elros to his heirs; with it the Kings were acknowledged, and its weight lay heavy on the shoulder of the heirs of the sea-kingdom.
The End
Ar-Pharazôn received it at his crowning and wielded it in his folly; it perished in the Downfall when the island sank beneath the wrath of the sea, and no sceptre of Númenor was ever seen again.
