Definition

The Sun is the golden light made from the last fruit of Laurelin after the death of the Trees, guided over the heavens by the Maia Arien; its first rising lit the world at the coming of the Noldor, and it stands (with the Moon), in the flat-world reckoning, as the new and lesser light of the mortal lands.
