The Making
The Three Rings — Narya the Ring of Fire, Nenya the Ring of Water, Vilya the Ring of Air — were the greatest of the works of the Elven-smiths, forged by Celebrimbor and his Gwaith-i-Mírdain alone, without the touch or counsel of Sauron; so they were never utterly corrupted, and only the master of the One Ring could perceive their wearers and the works of their hands.
Their Power and End
Their power was of preservation and healing — to stay the decay of the Elven-lands and hold the memory of the Light of Valinor against the waning of the world. When the One Ring was unmade their power faded, and the keepers took ship into the West, and the age of the Rings passed forever.
