Egalmoth
lord of the Tower of Snow; of the Heavenly Arch
Name and Role
Egalmoth was a captain of Gondolin, the lord of the house called the Heavenly Arch, whose dwelling was the Tower of Snow — so the tower is named in the accounts of the city’s streets and towers. Little is set down of his deeds beyond his name and lordship: he appears among the leaders of the twelve houses at the muster of the hidden city, in the host of Turgon.
In the Fall
When Morgoth’s host took the city, Egalmoth led his folk like the other lords in the defence; no particular fate of his own is recorded in the surviving texts.
