Name and Nature
The Huorns are the great trees of Fangorn that are half-treelike and half-bewildered with age — strong and wrathful when roused, with a menacing presence that freezes Men and Orcs alike; the shepherds of the forest keep their angry silence.
The Deed
In the War of the Ring a marching host of Huorns came to the Battle of the Hornburg and swallowed the routed Uruk-hai of the White Hand, so that the valley was emptied and grew silent under the sway of the returned wood.
