The Haven
Lond Daer (originally Vinyalondë, the New Haven) was founded in the Second Age by the mariners of Tar-Aldarion upon the great estuary of the Gwathló, to ship the great timber of the forests; for a while it was called the Great Haven, and in later days preserved as Lond Daer Eneth.
Decline
When the woods of Eriador were felled and the Kings’ friendship failed, the haven dwindled; in the War of the Ring it was already a memory, but its name was still kept in the annals of the West.
