Mablung of the Heavy Hand; Chief of the March-wardens of Doriath
Name and Office
Mablung (“Heavy Hand”) was a great captain of the Sindar, the Chief of the March-wardens of Doriath under Thingol, and the friend and fellow of Beleg in the wars of the border. He went with Thingol in the hunt, and with the doom-bringers of the Silmaril’s quest.
The Deeds
He was beside Beren and the companions in the dark roads of the north, and in the last peril he stood with the wardens of the realm; but when the Dwarves of Nogrod came at the Ruin of Doriath, Mablung was among the first to fall in the fray of the Thousand Caves, and his name is kept among the faithful of the hidden people.
