Name and Reign
Tar-Ciryatan (“ship-builder”) was the twelfth King of Númenor, a powerful and masterful lord who gave himself to the building of a great fleet and to the gathering of tribute from the coasts of Middle-earth.
The Shadow
In his day gold and gems and the might of the mariners flowed to Númenor, but the Faithful were thrust out of the west of the island, and the shadow that the Kings had kindled grew — for he was among the first who used the dominion of the sea to oppress the peoples of the East.
