The Deed
The Changing of the World was the reshaping of Arda that came of the Downfall: in justice for the rebellion of Ar-Pharazôn the land of Aman was removed from the circles of the world, the earth was rolled round and the island drowned, and the high road of the West was taken from the seas of mortal reach.
The Consequence
From that hour the ships of Men could not sail to the Blessed Realm, and yet the Straight Road remained for the Elves, so that the world did not lose entirely the memory of the Undying Lands.
