Names

The Ginglith is the name of a tributary of the Narog in the north-west of Beleriand.

Geography

The Ginglith had its springs in the Woods of Núath, beneath the shadow of the Ered Wethrin. Passing the lands of Tumhalad, it joined the Narog about fifty miles north of Nargothrond.

History

On the field of Tumhalad, where the Ginglith runs beside the Narog, the last host of Nargothrond was destroyed in the year 495 of the First Age; after that day the enemies of the Elves passed the rivers unhindered.
