The Petty-dwarves
the Noegyth Nibin; the dwindled and exiled Dwarf-folk of Mîm
Name and Kind
The Petty-dwarves (Noegyth Nibin) were a dwindled folk of the ancient Dwarf-kindreds — those cast out or diminished in the deep places of the earth, who had forgone the secrets of their greater kin and wandered homeless in the wilds of Beleriand.
Mîm’s Folk
They dwelt in the caves of the hills, few and embittered, and their last chieftain was Mîm, whose hidden house beneath Amon Rûdh sheltered the outlaws; in the end the folk was swept away in the desolation of the orc-hosts, and only a few sad remnants lingered in the woods.
