Mîm
the petty-dwarf of Amon Rûdh; the keeper of the hidden halls
Name and Nature
Mîm was the last of the Petty-dwarves — the dwindled, outcast kindred of the Dwarves — who dwelt with his sons in the hidden caves of Amon Rûdh above the marches of Dor-Cúarthol. When Túrin and his outlaws chanced upon his halls and seized them, Mîm was bound to them and their secret; in the betrayal that followed, the spite of the captive dwarf (whose kin had fallen to the men) turned the fortune of the tale.
