Anárion

the son of Elendil; the co-founder of Gondor

personmananariongondor

Name and Story

Anárion, the second son of Elendil (brother of Isildur), came with his father and brother through the Drowning and shared the founding of the South-kingdom (Gondor): he built the tower of Minas Anor (later Minas Tirith) and ruled the Southland’s realm. In the Last Alliance, Anárion fought beside his kin and lost his life in the war (per the annals, slain by a stone — in the siege) before the final battle; his line (with Isildur’s) carried the kingship of Gondor in the later ages.
