Name and Rule
Arvedui was the last King of the North-kingdom of Arnor, the heir of Isildur in the North; his long reign was ended when the hosts of Angmar and Gondor met in the great battle, and the realm of Arnor was destroyed, its crown brought by the survivors to seek a new king.
The Ending
Fleeing northward with the remnant, Arvedui gave the crown to the son of the chief of the Lossoth for safekeeping and went to sea in a ship of the Faithful; the ship was crushed in the ice of the gulf, and the king was lost — the last of his line to be called king, until the heir of the long-waiting returned at the end of the Third Age.
