Name and Story

Théodred, the son of Théoden and Elfhild, was the heir of the King of Rohan and the Second Marshal of the Mark. He warded the Fords of Isen against the hosts of Saruman, and there, in the first of the great crossings, he was struck down and his body laid upon the edge of the river-bank.

Legacy

His death at the Fords left the succession to his cousin Éomer, and hastened the bitter end of Gríma’s influence over the old king.
