Beornings
the fierce kindred of the Bear-man Beorn
Name and Kind
The Beornings are the fierce wood-men of the Vales of Anduin, descendants and friends of Beorn the skin-changer; they keep the fords and the western gate of the great forest, and in the wars of the War of the Ring their main road and their bows were the terror of the Orcs.
Their Service
They were ever the allies of the Elves of the wood and of the dwarves, and did great service in the Battle of Five Armies and in the guarding of the paths while the Shadow grew.
