Haldir
the March-warden of Lothlórien
Name and Office
Haldir was a March-warden of the Golden Wood of Lothlórien in the time of the War of the Ring, a stern and courteous Silvan Elf who met the Company of the Ring upon the borders and led them up the great guard of the trees.
The Passage
He spoke of the grief of the Elves and the death of the Lady’s realm, and conducted the travellers to Caras Galadhon, where Celeborn and Galadriel gave them greeting; his words of the fading of the Elves were among the sorrows of the quest.
