Name and Lore

Ioreth was the talkative and wise old woman who kept the Houses of Healing in Minas Tirith; in the time of the Black Breath she was full of old sayings and of the lore of weeds and of kings, and her words carried the memory of the elder days of Gondor.

The Famous Line

When the Healer came at last — Aragorn, whose hands were the hands of a king — Ioreth said the line that the whole tale remembers: “The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known.”
