the party of the Downfall; the Lords of the Sea and their hosts
Name and Party
The King’s Men were the great party of the Númenóreans who followed the Kings against the Valar — lovers of the sea and of dominion, who battened on the gold and slaves of the weaker lands and spurned the friendship of the Elves. From them sprang the hostility to the Faithful and the slow corruption of the island.
Legacy
Those who survived the Downfall in the havens of the coast were the The Black Númenóreans, the fiercest enemies of the Exiles — the King’s Men of Umbar who served Sauron and hated Gondor.
