The Road Goes Ever On is the song-cycle of Tolkien and composer Donald Swann (1967), setting to music the verses of the legendarium - the walking songs of the Ring-bearers, the Namárië of Galadriel (in Quenya), and the Ring-verse - with Tolkien’s own notes and musical commentary.
Its Place
It is the only sanctioned musical rendering of the songs of Middle-earth, giving the melodies the author himself heard in the words, and a valued companion of the Red Book’s songs.
