Óin
a dwarf of the Company; one of Thorin's twelve
Name and Story
Óin was one of the twelve dwarves who followed Thorin on the Quest of Erebor to the Lonely Mountain, kin of his folk of the line of Durin. the healer’s kinsman who set his ear to Smaug’s door; later died at the gates of Moria.
The Quest
He shared the perils of the Misty Mountains, the spiders and the gaol of the Wood-elves, and the long watching at the Mountain’s door, and (save those who fell) came not to the war’s end unblessed with the treasures of the hoard.
