a dwarf of the Company; the youngest historian
Name and Story
Ori was one of the twelve dwarves who followed Thorin on the Quest of Erebor to the Lonely Mountain, kin of his folk of the line of Durin. the quiet dwarf, later scribe of the doomed colony of Balin in Moria, whose runes recorded the fall.
The Quest
He shared the perils of the Misty Mountains, the spiders and the gaol of the Wood-elves, and the long watching at the Mountain’s door, and (save those who fell) came not to the war’s end unblessed with the treasures of the hoard.
