The Banner
The Banner of Elendil was the great standard of the Kings of the South-kingdom, bearing the device of the White Tree in blossom against the sable field, the seven stars of the crown, and the circlet of the kings — the emblem long unseen in the wars.
Its Unfurling
The banner was carried by the Grey Company and unfurled upon the ships of the Corsairs; when the standard of the King appeared over the black fleet, the hearts of the enemy broke and the hearts of the besieged leapt — the sign of the rightful king at the last war.
