The Falls of Rauros

the great falls of the Anduin beneath Amon Hen

placefalls of raurosanduinamon hen

The Falls

The Falls of Rauros were the greatest falls of the Anduin, a long and thunderous white cascade where the river ran between high banks in the heart of the wild; the thundering of the water was heard far off, and no boat could pass down.

The Breaking

There the Company came to the head of the falls; Boromir fell in the woods of Amon Hen, and his body was set in a boat to go over the falls and down the river — the sign of the breaking of the Fellowship and of the Ring-bearer’s parting.
