The Great Goblin
the king of the goblins of the Misty Mountains
Name and Rule
The Great Goblin was the king of the goblins of the Misty Mountains, a huge and terrible chieftain who dwelt in the deeps beneath the High Pass and ruled his lurching folk with a huge voice and a bent, great head.
His Fall
When Thorin’s company was taken by his goblins, he questioned them with mockery — but Gandalf slew him with a flash of light and the great sword Glamdring, and in the rout that followed the whole company escaped by the secret ways of the goblin-town.
