The Hall of Fire
the great hearth-hall of Elrond at Rivendell
The Hall
The Hall of Fire was the great room of the open hearth in the Last Homely House, where the fire burned unquenchable through the long evenings and the Elves gathered to sing the old lays.
In the Tale
There Bilbo recited his songs and the tale of the Ring first drew the company’s thought; the quiet of its flame and the memory of its music are among the gentle lights of the long journey.
