Name and Kind
The Haradrim (“Southrons”, the Men of the Sun) were the dark peoples of the South, tall and fierce among the nations of Men; age after age Sauron drew them into the service of Mordor , riding the great beasts of their land and fighting beneath the Shadow.
In the Wars
Their hosts came to the Pelennor with the Oliphaunts and the corsairs of Umbar, and fought at the Black Gate; the Ithilien Rangers under Faramir ambushed their camping-place, and yet the name of the Southrons remained hard and unfriendly to Gondor till the King’s peace was made.
