The Realm
Angmar was the evil kingdom of the Witch-king, raised in the cold north of the Misty Mountains in the Third Age; from its fastness he warred against the remnant of the North-kingdom of Arnor, and his hordes, descending with frost and fire, destroyed the Dúnedain realms one by one.
The End
At the last the hosts of the West under Gondor and the Elves broke his power in the North, and Angmar fell; the Witch-king himself withdrew to Mordor, and the cold shadow of the realm lingered long in the memory and in the barrows.
