The Hill
The Hill was the great rounded green mound at the head of Hobbiton, pierced by the warm holes and kitchens of the hobbits; at its summit stood the great door of Bag End.
In the Tale
From the Hill the Long-expected Party streamed down to the Party Field; to the Hill returned the four hobbits after the war, and Samwise planted the mallorn of the new age in its shadow.
