The Lands

The Undying Lands are the lands beyond the great sea - Aman and Valinor, the realm of the Valar and the Eldar - where no death nor fading comes by the nature of the place; the Long-lived are permitted to come thither in the end, and the Ring-bearers and the last Elves sailed there from the Grey Havens.

Their Mystery

The Undying Lands were taken utterly out of the circles of the world in the Downfall of Númenor; only the Elves’ Straight Road still reached them, and in the Fourth Age the passage was but a fading memory of the ancient myth.
