The Land

Buckland was a narrow country between the Brandywine and the Old Forest, held by the Brandybucks of Brandy Hall under the Master of Buckland; its folk were bolder of speech and more open-handed than their cousins of the farthings.

The Flight

Frodo and his companions passed through Crickhollow in the Buckland, where the Black Riders had been felt at the gates, and entered the Old Forest to shake off the unseen hunters.
